CIS Group is the largest supplier of field underwriting inspections in the country. Since 1995, CIS has completed more than 10 million personal and commercial line field surveys for the insurance and banking industries.

Where Are We?

The CIS Group of Companies has a true national footprint, with field distribution points that allow us to place inspectors at individual properties, at any address in the United States, with industry leading cycle times. Our headquarter office is in Ft. Worth, Texas. We have regional operating centers in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA.

CIS Group is a full service field underwriting inspection company. We have the most comprehensive suite of underwriting inspection products in the industry.

Covering the needs of both personal and commercial lines in the P&C and banking industries, CIS Group is able to customize inspection programs that fit the individual needs of our clients. From simple occupancy checks and condition & hazard assessment, to comprehensive loss control and containment, we have the ability to provide immediate decision-making intelligence to underwriters.

At CIS, we manage to our mission statement. With a declared goal of providing a Perfect Customer Experience, we develop our operating strategy around providing accurate, timely, cost effective field underwriting inspections to our clients.

Organizational Structure

CIS Group’s core product offering centers on field underwriting services. We have four operating zones, each supervised by a zone Officer in Charge, with a robust field management, supervisory, and inspector associate infrastructure contained within the zone.

The administrative and technical operations are centralized in our Ft. Worth office. Additionally, our customer service and support operations are housed within a separate unit at the home office in Texas. This centralization helps to maintain our overhead costs, and to standardize our core reporting administrative functions.

Why did CIS Group buy AFS?

Advanced Field Services is a well respected company, with a rich history of providing first class field underwriting services. Their national coverage area aligns with those at CIS Group, and their client structure is a perfect fit. Additionally, AFS has an advanced technology platform that will continue to benefit their legacy customers, and will improve our IT position within the industry.

Once complete, the combined company will have an even more robust product offering and geographic presence which will benefit all CIS Group clients.

Who do I contact if I have questions?

We understand that this acquisition may lead to questions, but we ask you to please refrain from calling the CIS Group corporate office until you have reviewed the FAQ and determined that your questions need immediate attention. In the event you must contact CIS Group directly, our vendor support team will assist you or will direct your question to the appropriate resource.

Over the next week, we will distribute written communication to all contracted inspectors. Please be patient and all questions will be answered quickly.

Am I still an independent contractor with AFS?

Yes. Your current contract with AFS is still in force.

Will my workload or contracted rate change?

While CIS Group cannot control the volume of assignments received from our customers or those of AFS, the workload and pay rate will not immediately change on work that is received.

I am currently a CIS Inspector and also work for AFS; how does this change affect me?

There will be no immediate change in pay structure, pay dates or assignments. Field responsibility will remain the same until further notice.

How will CIS Group notify me of any changes due to the acquisition of AFS?

Over the next few weeks CIS Group will work diligently to communicate with the inspection force via email communication and conference calls. Please keep an active eye on the email account that you have registered with AFS, and check our website for frequently published updates.

Will how I receive and input my completed work change?

No, for the next few months contracted inspectors will continue to access and input work through the CIS Group Navigator and AFSWEB websites, depending on the client.
